Boudoir photography is a practice in presence.

It isn't about performance. Nor is it about posing or perfection. It's the process of capturing someone in moments where they see themselves as they truly are - unfiltered, unguarded, and fully present. It's an act of agency, power, and self-assurance, not performance for an audience.

These sessions are unhurried and intentional. They are guided with care, rooted in respect, and shaped by your boundaries and preferences. Nothing rushed. Nothing assumed.

FAQ

These responses address the most common concerns. Anything more specific is best discussed in conversation.

"I feel nervous about doing a boudoir session. Is that normal?"

Yes. Feeling nervous is common, and it’s completely normal to have questions or uncertainty before a session.

The pace of the shoot is designed to help you ease into the experience gradually, giving you space to find comfort in each moment. We incorporate music, pauses, and regular check-ins so you can breathe, adjust, and feel fully present throughout.

The goal is to create an environment where you feel seen and in control, allowing the session to unfold naturally without pressure or rush.

"What should I wear?"

Wear what feels true to you.

That might be lingerie, or it might be something simple from your own wardrobe. The key is to choose pieces that make you feel comfortable, authentic, and at ease in your own skin.

We can explore textures, colours, and styles together, considering what resonates with your personality and the mood you want to capture. Nothing is imposed or expected - our conversation beforehand ensures that when the day arrives, you feel confident, prepared, and free to focus on the experience rather than the clothing.

"How do you guide posing?"

Direction is collaborative, not prescriptive.

I pay attention to what feels natural and adapt to that. Throughout the session, I offer gentle guidance and subtle adjustments, always checking in to ensure you feel comfortable and in control.

The responsibility for framing, lighting, and posture rests with me, so you can stay present, relaxed, and authentic, rather than worrying about performing or striking the “right” pose. This approach allows the session to unfold organically, honouring your pace and personal expression.

"But how do I pose?"

You need not stress too much about posing, and allow me to share with you why. My style of photography focuses on a candid approach to my sessions, so we'll be chatting about everything and nothing throughout, so your mind won't necessarily be focused on the precise details - the details are my job, not yours. Which leads me to this: Even then, I'll be paying attention to what seems and feels natural to you, and adapting my angles and my direction to what I notice. I do this because I'm aware of the fact that every subject I work with is different, and I'm one to pay attention to what works with you and complement that, rather than abide by a strict rulebook.

"Do you retouch the images?"

Processing is deliberate and restrained.

Adjustments focus on light, tone, and cohesion, ensuring each image reflects the atmosphere and intention of the session.

I do not alter features or apply heavy retouching that misrepresents what is true. The goal is to enhance clarity and presence, not to create an artificial version of yourself. Every edit is made with care, so the final images feel authentic, natural, and true to how you experienced the moment.

"When will I receive my images?"

Final images are typically delivered within 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the scope of the session and current workload. I take care to review each image thoughtfully, ensuring that the final selection reflects the session’s intent and your comfort. When possible, I can provide a preview of a few images sooner, so you can begin to enjoy the results while the full set is being prepared.

A boudoir session is not about becoming someone else.

It's an opportunity to see yourself as you genuinely are, and to honour that moment with care.
